Tashkent Shopping and Lifestyle Centre

In the common areas of a four-floor shopping and lifestyle centre in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Bilecik Kremi floors were used, with Fırat Vişnesi accent strips in the atrium. Because of the large quantity, colour consistency was the most critical issue in the project.

Project summary

• 31,000 m² of flooring with 1.8 mm calibration tolerance
• Atrium: Fırat Vişnesi 20 cm strips and a banding pattern
• Escalator surrounds and steps: anti-slip honed finish
• Mixed slab loading in each container to match colour block-to-block
• Combined road and rail shipment

Delivery was made in 21 days via Mersin port and the Turkmenbashi route by rail. Petrova's technical office gave the local contractor two weeks of on-site installation advice.

Result

The centre welcomed 6.2 million visitors in its opening year. The architect stated that the 2 cm thickness and 1.8 mm calibration tolerance in the floor cladding gave thin joints and an even surface in installation.
